Jonny Draper's Wedding Masterclass

In March (I know, this blog post is very late!!) I got the amazing opportunity to spend 2 days with the fantastic Jonny Draper at Heaton House Farm in Staffordshire.
I went on this masterclass to bring new ideas and techniques to my wedding photography, whilst at the same time learning some extra business techniques and networking with other wedding photographers.

I've now brought what I've learnt back to Essex so that I can share it with my future
Brides and Grooms!

The first day started with the usual nervous ice breaker of introducing ourselves, but everyone soon relaxed and Jonny explained how he had come to be one of the best and most respected award winning wedding photographers in the North of England.

We spent the rest of the day exploring the way Jonny shoots a wedding day, from the bridal prep, through the ceremony to some fantastic posed shots later on including the smoke shots  which he is famous for. I must say, this is just as fun as it looks and the results are so unique and can never be predicted, it's a great way to add something unique to a wedding album.

Day 2 was focused around the business and how to increase opportunities whilst meeting new fantastic suppliers to work with in the future.

Thanks to this you'll now find me on Instagram

Both days were absolutely jam packed full of really helpful stuff which I'll be implementing straight away! Our brilliant model couple were Holly Aldersley and Chris Hutchinson and they did a great job surviving the cold without complaining about it at all, I was frozen even in a coat!

You can find the suppliers I met on these 2 days here, check them out they're absolutely fantastic (especially the cakes, they were so tasty!!)

To finish, here are some of the sample shots from Day 1, I certainly took a lot away from the 2 days (and my gear wishlist has grown... damn you Jonny!)
